Sure that’s a possibility, just realize that a Broker’s job is to usually execute others orders instead of their own. So most of the time you’re dealing more with accounting, paperwork (having nothing to do with actual economics). And yes, I’ve also heard that most brokers usually major in finance.
If you want something more involved economics you may want consider being a trader, or some type of money manager (hedge fund maybe).

There are only two things you need to know before becoming a stock broker
1. You have to be good with people
2. You have to be good with math
Screw economics and only learn investing for personal finance. Also screw accounting or finance. Major in math , then go into business. Being a math whiz in the business world is more useful than knowing accounting or finance.

You dont need a degree to be a stock broker. Being a stock broker is about sales, networking and building relationships. If you want to become an analyst then major in one of the above.

Why not double major?
You’ll have an Economics and a Finance/Accounting degree under your belt.
I’m going back for Business Administration with a minor in Economics/Finance next year.
