I finished at the top of my class in business economics, but I see that most jobs require an advanced degree. Macroeconomics is my passion and I’m willing to put in the time and effort to succeed in this field. What type of positions are attainable, and what companies or government offices should I look at?

i’m a sophomore at the university of michigan and incase i dont get into business school, i’d double major in economics and industrial operations engineering. of course, i’ll be aiming for masters in both fields. is it a good alternative to an MBA?
what kind of jobs can you get?
is there a high demand for these types of majors?
what would be the difference between someone with M.S in econ + IOE and someone with an MBA? career-wise.

I would like to start up ,my own business someday in the future, but i am not sure how a degree in economics will be useful for my career plans .
I will begin my studies in economics at the beginning of September. However, someone mentioned that a degree in economics will lead me to certain careers such as Banking, risk management, portfolio management, financial analyst, insurance etc. To be honest, some of these mentioned careers are not what i ever wanted.
Does any one have a better idea about how a degree in economics could be useful to a self-employed person?
Thank you in advance

My house rep, John Lewis, a member of ways and means is clueless on economics. Like having an illiterate on the school board.

I am graduating, and was wondering what kind of jobs (including finance jobs) are there out there that I can do. Also, what can I expect in terms of promotions and salary in the future. Also, starting salary. Is there anyone who majored in economics? If so, what do you do?

In economics, I have to study for a final, and I need to know about opening a business and the four factors.
-Land
-Capital
-Labor
-Entrepeneur
-And how to organize it all
Can someone give me some good explanations of each and how they relate to a business?
