I am a freshman in college that does not have to pay for tuition at my college. I want to live in an apartment next year, but probably will not have enough money to pay my half of the rent. I am also planning on attending graduate school for physical therapy, which I will be in debt for. Is it wise to get a loan on an apartment since I won’t have any undergrad debt, and if so who is the best company to get a loan from?

When a company writes of part of a debt, it is then recorded as income to the IRS and you pay taxes on it. Does the loan modifcation work the same way?

I’m finding it impossible to get approval for a student loan because I previously declared bankruptcy. I can easily get approved for a car loan, but not for my education. Anyone with ideas or information about this situation please respond. I have to pay for nursing school by August 1st!

I am doing a Stated Income loan. Why do I need to show bank statements if I have direct deposit from my employeer? That would be “showing my income” compared to “stating my income.” Do I have to show them? And, is there another way around it? Please help!

Once they initially discharge the loan, will they refund any money you paid, how does this affect credit rating? How is this to be handled if the applicant begins working again after qualifying for the loan discharge?

My husband, myself and our kids, are living with his parents, for the past six months. We both have very poor credit and are in desparate need of our own place. We now can afford our own place but cannot get a loan to purchase one. We have down payment in hand, and the monthly income to afford everything, but we are still without a home! Can someone please help with an idea of how to get a $6500.00 loan?

A couple of year s ago. I took out an auto loan and the lender in the country I am living in indexed the loadn against a basket of currencies. Everything seemed to be going fine until recently when the currency of the country I am living in started to depreciate against other currencies. I notice that my new principal took a hit in the upward direct by approximately the same percentage as the decline in the local currency so I now owe more than I did a year ago. If my currency here recovers to previous levels will the principal also go down?
