The best time to start a work at home business is now. So many people are finding themselves unemployed because of downsizing or whatever the reason is. There are a lot of home based business opportunities to choose from, but you need to slow down at first and do your home work before you make that decision. In this article we want to talk about 3 steps you must take before you start a home based business.
Investigate the history of the company
This is one of the key reason why many people are being scammed on the Internet. If you carefully look around the Internet these days, you will notice that many of these “home based opportunities” are setup promoting a lot of hype; Always showing snap shots of their bank statements hoping to wet your appetite and join up through your emotions rather that using your common since.
Be careful not to let your emotions take control of you before joining any home based business. If the company has only been around 3 or 4 months, maybe you should be a bit cautious from the start. Furthermore, if this same company has a web page full of testimonies, and the company is brand new, just continue on your research until you find something better.
Compensation Plan
Do not overlook the compensation plan while you’re doing your research. Remember, you are in the driver’s seat at this moment. You are not going on a job interview! In most cases, you are the one being sort after. So, you want to take your time and look over the compensation plan to see how it will benefit you, and in some cases, your family too.
Believe it or not, some work at home opportunities will have comp. plans where you and your family can take advantage of discounts to hotels, cruises, and even car rentals. So, this is something to think about and should not be overlooked while you are doing your research.
Taking your time at the beginning will help you in the long run because far too many network marketers bounce from one opportunity to the next because they fail to take this important step from the start. But you wont have to fail in this area because you will know what to look for before you get there.
Mentors
I really can’t tell you enough how important it is to have a mentor. Most people who join a home business expect to make money right away. However, you need to keep in mine that in order to have a successful work at home based business, you need to build a foundation first.
Having a mentor is the easiest and most proficient way to building wealth for your home business. The reason why mentors are great to have is because they can save you so much of your valuable time. A good mentor will direct you to the best marketing tools to use that will give you the best return from the efforts you make on a daily basis.
Most mentors have put a lot of time in marketing their business and have made a few mistakes also. They are there to let you know where you should focus your time at; and what will be a waste of your time. A mentor is like a co-pilot to your business. You are in charge of your own business, but whenever you need help or run into a problem, your mentor is right there to give you a helping hand.
In conclusion, home based business opportunities are everywhere around the Internet, but if you want to have a successful work at home business, following these three step will help your journey go a lot smoother. I wish you the very best.

Under Credit
I recently started an LLC and would like to start establishing my business credit. What are some good first credit cards to get that will help me establish my business credit? Most I’ve seen want my personal credit as a co-signer for my business, but I would prefer to stay away from that. I mean, what was the point of forming an LLC if my personal credit was going to be taken into account for everything, right?
