What Can I Do With A Degree In Business Economics?

I’m about to be graduating from SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Business Economics. Last summer I had an internship with Merrill Lynch. I’m interested in jobs involving economics and finance. I’m not sure if I want to be some sort of an analyst or what really other kinds of jobs are out there. I can’t really find a good place to find jobs either, it’s really tough out there these days, I’m having a hard time finding jobs. If anyone has any help, I could really use it.

we are in the same boat.
but u have a good internship. it seems like u are a smart one.
so just wait for 3 or 6 months. study for CFA if u dont’ wanna waste time.
just wait. it will be really hard at this time.

You will get lots of answers telling you to do online surveys and crap like that, don’t fall for them, they are all scams!
You really need to be talking to your professors and advisers about this and see if they can give you any kind of direction. You need to get some kind of job, even you may not like it or are sure it’s what you want to do. With jobs as hard as they are to come by, you should take what you can get for now. Keep searching for what you want or maybe go to graduate school. Good Luck!

Milk your contacts from Merrill Lynch to see if they know any job openings anywhere (I understand Merrill isn’t doing well right now) ? If not, the traditional way (newspaper, monsters, cold calling). Highlight your internship.
Edit: Lol, LoveDarrenP. I really love how EVERYBODY is interested in taking the CFA as if that somehow will get you in. I think I finally understand the absolute derision financial managers have these days for CFA test takers. There’s so many people (even plain violin teachers) trying to do the CFA that even if you passed, it doesn’t matter much to the firms. But since you’re so set on taking the test, I’ll sell my CFA I test books to you. At a large discount. At $300. They’re all came straight from CFA institute. Good luck in studying them.
In fact, maybe I should change my career to making CFA study materials as there are so many suckers hellbent on taking the test and lining the CFA Institute’s pockets.
